Clifden gourmet institution The Connemara Hamper is celebrating a change of management with a special tasting evening this Friday, October 14 from 4pm. Sally Madden has recently taken over ownership  and management of the award-winning delicatessen, building on almost 20 years of successful business by founder Eileen Halliday.

07_hamperCustomers of the shop – which offers great cheeses, fine food and wine – will be familiar with Sally from her work in the delicatessen over the past three years.

Now, she is preparing to put that experience ‘along with the valuable advice given by Eileen’ to work in running the business.

The shop’s emphasis is on locally-sourced, organic and Fair Trade products, with a particular focus on customer commitment.

Sally has already added a new organic fruit and vegetables box scheme to the shop, and other popular items in stock include the selection of organic wines, gluten free products, and Irish farmhouse cheeses.

The Hamper also does a section of takeaway lunches and coffees, and offers a full catering service for dinner parties and special events. Gift hampers can be created to meet your needs and delivered nationwide and abroad.

Sally is delighted to be taking on the business and welcomes you all to the tasting evening this Friday, from 4pm-8pm, for a sample of what the Connemara Hamper has to offer.
