Atlantic Camogie is continuing its summer of fun. On June 23 we travelled to the Connacht centre of excellence to participate in an u16 provincial blitz. We met teams from Athenry, Killimor and Davitts. Although the rain was incessant it did not dampen our spirits, and a great day was had by all. It was also super to see where are compared to these established clubs. The gap continues to close.

To add a bit of fun to our Wednesday training we ran an internal 5-a-side competition with the winners receiving the Peter Fitz cup and €10 phone credit, each kindly sponsored by Kavanagh’s SuperValu Clifden. Thank you to the legendary Peter Fitz for attending on the day and presenting the Peter Fitzpatrick Cup, and Brian Mullen from SuperValu for presenting the girls with their vouchers.

Our next big event will be taking part in the Camogie Speed Leagues. This is an initiative by the camogie association to promote player development in smaller game situations and prevent player dropout.

Training continues weekly and new players are always welcome. For more information check out our Facebook page Atlantic Camogie or call 1800 476 984
