Atlantic Camogie reached a big milestone this month when we celebrated our first birthday.

It has been an incredible first year for the club, with memberships and skill levels continuously rising.

We have been busy as always with league games and challenge matches both at home and away. We had two big outings recently. Firstly, we travelled to Castlegar Camogie club for an U16 league game. We received a very warm welcome from the club and look forward to welcoming them back to Clifden again. After the game we went to Pearse Stadium to watch Galway play Wexford in a championship game.

Later in the month we were delighted to take part in an u14 mini féile in Galway. We first travelled to Renmore, where we played three games, and then back on the bus to Moycullen for a further six games. We played teams from Galway, Offaly, Roscommon, Limerick, and Tipperary.

This was a developmental tournament and all participants received a lovely medal and jersey. Our next outing will be on June 23, when we travel to the Connacht centre of excellence to participate in an U16 7-a-side tournament.

Training continues twice weekly. New players always welcome at any stage of the season and from anywhere.
