September has been a busy month here at Kylemore, and despite the weather the visitors just kept coming! We noticed towards the end of September that we were seeing predominantly American visitors and the same can be said for the locality in general.

By the time you read this we will have enjoyed taking part in a global celebration of heart health with Croí and their partner organisations around the world.

The Abbey was lit up in red in the evenings from September 26 to 29, and we had a nice line up of events planned across the estate on September 29.

Earlier in the summer we took ownership of three sparkling new electric Kango vans, with the official handover of keys taking place with representatives of Renault and JJ Burkes car dealership here on September 18.

The only problem on the day of the handover was the stunning sunshine, which caused quite a challenge for photographer
Aoife Herriot.

The three vans are a small step in the right direction in our efforts to make the estate carbon neutral.

We hope to soon introduce a public electric car charging station, and we are currently planning on numerous ways to make Kylemore a fully green destination.
