A south Connemara school has become the first in Ireland to take on a newly devised technology curriculum through Irish which aims to develop engineering and technology skills among students.

Gaeltacht Minister Seán Kyne launched the new curriculum, produced by the TechSpace Programme, at Scoil Chuimsitheach Chiaráin, An Cheathrú Rua, last week (Monday September 9th).

The 40-hour course in STEM subjects is now available in Irish and English to all the country’s schools. Among other activities, young people learn about making digital films, web design, mobile app development, and robotics.
